At Automechanika Frankfurt 2024, Hunter Engineering Company highlighted its commitment to innovation and growth in the automotive industry. Steve Brauer Jr., Executive Vice President; John Zentz, Senior Vice President; Darcy Tallon, Vice President – International; and T.K. Surya Prakash, Regional Manager for South Asia & Middle East, Hunter shared insights into the company’s latest technologies and market strategies, emphasizing their significance in the global landscape.

“We’re excited to welcome you here to the Hunter booth at Automechanika 2024,” Brauer began. “We’re unveiling several new pieces of technology for the European and worldwide markets today, including our new Hunter ADAS system, which will be coming soon for many markets around the world.” This advanced system is designed to eliminate the guesswork involved in recalibrating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for technicians.

“The very interesting and unique feature of this system is that it takes all of the guesswork out of ADAS calibration,” Brauer explained. “You no longer need a plumb bob or tape measure to place targets in order to recalibrate these systems. The Hunter system will pinpoint the location for all of your devices with laser accuracy and also record that it’s been done correctly, which is very important.”

In addition to the ADAS system, Hunter Engineering presented its new Hawkeye XL product at the exhibition, which brings advanced camera technology to the heavy-duty and commercial vehicle markets. “Our Quick Check Drive system is also on display, providing instant diagnostics of alignment and tire conditions as vehicles enter a workshop,” Brauer noted, showcasing the breadth of technology Hunter Engineering is bringing to market.

Zentz highlighted the importance of Hunter’s global business. “Our global business, especially outside of North America, is a really important part of Hunter’s operations. This division is leading us this year with the highest growth year-over-year,” he stated. The international business continues to thrive with exciting new products tailored for global markets.

“Among the standout innovations is the new Hawkeye XL heavy-duty alignment machine,” Zentz remarked. “We really expect that to continue to propel our international business.” He also mentioned the launch of a new entry-level alignment machine called WindAlign Light, specifically designed for the international market.

Tallon added, “Major growth year-over-year is happening in Europe, with France leading the way as our number one market. We’re also seeing action in Australia, Southeast Asia, and India.” He shared a recent update from their Indian partner, Madhus Garage Equipment, noting a shift in customer preferences. “Customers who were typically looking for low-end, cheaper equipment are now starting to recognize the benefits of a vehicle that rolls smoothly,” Tallon explained. “The Road Force Elite is the machine that can guarantee a new car ride, so please connect with Madhus for more information.”

Zentz emphasized Hunter’s approach to market segmentation. “Our goal is to look at the globe in segments. Certain markets prioritize cost, and that’s a great example of why we introduced WindAlign Light this year—it’s an entry-level aligner to address that market,” he said. He acknowledged the universal demand for premium equipment, stating, “Every market has a premium segment that wants equipment that lasts a long time and is simple to use.”

Echoing this sentiment, Tallon remarked, “There’s a premium customer in every market. I know this because that’s who Hunter is. Vietnam, for example, outperforms many European nations in per capita shipments of our products.” He highlighted that Hunter operates in over 100 countries, catering to diverse customer needs with software available in multiple languages.

T.K. Surya Prakash emphasized India’s growth potential, stating, “India is one of the biggest growth markets, and this year has been phenomenal thanks to Madhus. They’re doing exceptionally well.” He noted, “We just launched the Hawkeye XL in India, which aligns with our global launch, and India continues to be one of our focus markets.”

Tallon reaffirmed India’s importance, saying, “Historically, India and France are our two largest markets for commercial wheel alignment. The Hawkeye XL is a game changer, and I look forward to visiting India soon to see some of the shops that have invested in the Hawkeye XL.”

Zentz concluded with optimism about the future, stating, “We definitely expect significant growth in India, and we know that the Hawkeye XL is going to drive that. There’s a lot of commercial activity in India, and we’re excited to see where this goes.”

Hunter Engineering Company’s innovative approach, commitment to quality, and strong partnerships position them as a leader in the automotive technology space, ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market, particularly in key regions like India.
