In just over two months, IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024 will open its doors, showcasing the exclusive Startup Area in Hall 12. This area is integrated directly into the exhibition space, placing startups in close proximity to leading brands and integrating them into the event’s activities. With 34 carefully selected young companies from various countries, IAA once again underscores its role as the leading platform for the future of logistics and transportation. Under the motto “People And Goods On The Move,” groundbreaking solutions for the mobility of tomorrow will be presented.

This year’s Startup Area features a curated selection of companies presenting pioneering technologies and solutions in the fields of batteries, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, hydrogen and electric engines, and emission-free cooling technologies. Here is a brief overview of some of the exciting startups:
- Additive Drives GmbH (Germany) revolutionizes the production of electric motors using 3D printing technologies. Their innovative processes enable faster and more cost-effective manufacturing of high-performance motors, paving the way for sustainable electromobility.
- Smarter Eye Technology Co., Ltd (China) develops advanced LIDAR sensors for autonomous driving. Their high-precision sensors enhance the detection and analysis of the environment, significantly improving the safety and efficiency of autonomous vehicles.
- Brain of Materials AG (Germany) offers digital infrastructure products and services that optimize material selection and development in the automotive industry. By integrating AI and Big Data, they create a platform that shortens innovation cycles and promotes sustainable materials.
- ADASKY Ltd (Israel) develops intelligent thermal sensor technologies that enhance the safety and perception systems of vehicles. Their compact, high-resolution LWIR camera allows autonomous vehicles to see in all weather conditions and lighting, bridging perception gaps left by traditional sensors. The technology is also used for smart cities and detecting elevated body temperatures in public spaces, enhancing urban safety.
Focus on Autonomous Driving
A standout theme of this year’s Startup Area is services and products for automated and autonomous driving. Seven of the selected startups are working on advanced solutions ranging from driver assistance systems to fully autonomous vehicle technologies. These innovative approaches promise to significantly improve road safety and efficiency, and are a central element of IAA TRANSPORTATION’s vision for the future.
International Diversity
The Startup Area impresses with its international diversity. The 34 startups hail from 15 countries, including Germany, Israel, France, the USA, the Netherlands, China, Switzerland, Italy, South Korea, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, and the UK. Germany leads with 15 startups, followed by Israel with three, and France, the USA, and the Netherlands with two each. This global mix underscores IAA TRANSPORTATION’s significance as an international platform for forward-looking mobility solutions.
Program Highlights and Networking Opportunities
Throughout the week, thematically curated pitches will be held on the Industry Stage, where startups present their innovative solutions to a broad professional audience. These pitches offer a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments firsthand and interact with the minds behind the technologies. A special highlight is the Pioneers Linkup on Thursday evening in Hall 18. This exclusive networking event brings together the most innovative minds in the industry, fostering exchange between established companies, investors, and startups.
Prototype Club at IAA TRANSPORTATION
