Interpump Hydraulics (IPH) India recently completed 10 years of its operation in the Indian market, a very eventful yet tough journey that rewarded the company exceedingly well. The Interpump Group has been acquiring a number of companies worldwide, and the new products and business lines have come as an opportunity for IPH India.
IPH India started its business as a trading company, importing certain power take-offs (PTOs) from Italy. It has now grown into a full-fledged marketing, designing and manufacturing set-up, having three plants in India, with more than 30 dealers all over the country and various products in its kitty and serving multiple business sectors. It has a global technology centre that caters to its group companies all over the world.
“IPH is a leading player in PTOs and pumps in India and across the globe. We have been increasing our share in the cylinder and tipping kit business quite faster. We manufacture single & double acting, front end mounting, underbody mounting type and cylinders for the Indian OEMs. IPH has plans to enhance its range further for certain applications and innovate new designs with the latest technology available in the company”, says Mr. Girish Garud, Managing Director, IPH India.
In terms of business, IPH presently caters to the mobile truck hydraulics, which it intends to extend to the construction sector, in particular, the earth moving equipment business. The company is also having a major share in the water sector where its high pressure water pumps dominate the Indian jetting and fire truck business. IPH would be rapidly expanding in this area in the coming years. Apart from this the company would be venturing in to supplying hoses to the above industries, with the help of its group company in Europe.
Hopeful of double-digit growth
Looking at its next five-year plan, IPH is confident of a double-digit growth year-on-year and is hence enhancing its present manufacturing locations and planning to make it double of what it has today. The company’s roadmap is well-defined till 2020 and has strong action plans put in place to achieve this. With the company investing in a big way in terms of new technologies, machines and skilled manpower, the entire team at IPH India is highly motivated.
“Our main focus for the coming years would be to diversify into new segments and sectors. We are coming out with a lot of new products like hydraulic hoses, pumps for the construction sector, double-acting cylinders for specific applications, etc., which will give us 35-40% jump in revenues. Apart from this, we shall substantially increase our exports to South-East Asian countries, both for the aftermarket and for OEMs. We are confident that the next five years for IPH India would be the golden years in terms of growth, brand value and accolades we would get from the wide spectrum of customers we are serving”, adds Mr. Garud.
