India Rubber Expo 2013, the three-day 7th International Exhibition and Conference organised by the All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA) at the Bombay Exhibition Centre during January 22-24, attracted 550 participating firms from India and over 25,000 trade visitors from 42 countries. Covering an area of 30,000 sq. metres, the exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to display their latest products and processes designed to meet modern, multiple industry requirements.

A large number of delegates from the US, Central America, Europe and Asia visited the IRE and attended the technical conferences. The event provided great value to the people working in the field of tread rubber manufacturing, retreading and rubber compound mixing.

The buyer-seller meet organized along with the Chemicals and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL) brought together well over 30 international importers for a one-on-one interaction with suppliers from India, thus improving the export prospects by adding new items to the exports list.

IRE 2013 was supported by the Indian Rubber Board and the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association. A certified show by the US Department of Commerce, the expo therefore provided great opportunity for each and every participant from India and abroad to increase their sales and contacts multi-fold.

The Indian Rubber Expo 2013 really proved a testament to the confidence and relevance of India’s largest rubber body, the All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA), which organised the show.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Niraj Thakkar, AIRIA President, said that for the first time the expo witnessed a major participation from small and medium enterprises. This not only allowed them to showcase their products but also provided them with better business opportunities as the show was extended to invite visitors from the rubber product consuming industry.

Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chairman for IRE 2013, commented: “We are very glad to organise this event. The conference is structured to benefit in a practical way all sectors of industry – large, medium, micro and small – and for the first time workshops were conducted in parallel with the conference. We trust the workshops would be beneficial to answer the queries of the micro and small scale industries”.

Mr. Mittal added: “Another highlight of the expo was the Buyer-Seller Meet organized by CAPEXIL. About 30 buyers were identified internationally, and for the first time a Vendor Meet was conducted where major buyers of rubber products from the auto component industry, the Railways and the Defense were invited to participate. The show would make IRE 2013 reach new zenith only to be witnessed and acknowledged by the global rubber industry”.
