In an exclusive interview with Amit Agrawal, Promoter, Jagdamba Trailers, Rajesh Rajgor notes how the company has been striving to build quality products and strengthen customer relations to stay ahead in the trailer segment.
Could you tell us about Jagdamba Trailers’ customer-centric approach? How important is customer connect for you and how has it helped your brand’s growth?
We have always been customer-centric which has become the largest factor for making us the most popular brand in the tip trailer industry. We had started the company with a broad vision to design and manufacture trailers that will have much bigger value-additions for customers, bringing them higher profitability and less hassles for maintenance. Our vision has always been to be most aggressive towards providing best trailer solutions, reaching to end-customers and courageous while taking on challenges, using customers’ rich understanding to develop the most innovative trailers.
Which are the product segments and markets in which you have a strong presence? Any reasons to substantiate the same?
We have identified all segments in India where different kinds of trailers are operating in various applications. Accordingly, we have been presenting the most appropriate trailer solutions with our intensive marketing strategy. In coal belts areas like Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra we have achieved immense success by catering a major portion. Also, in aggregates and in iron ore markets such as North India, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha we are not lagging behind anybody. We have spread out our core marketing across India. Looking into our future expansion plans we have already started to occupy most of the existing trailer market and are exploring the emerging trailer market like North East and South India. We have also started to explore export opportunities and recently were successful in getting an export order from the Middle East.
What according to you are the main success secrets of your company that have contributed to your growth and success over the years?
We have a strong and dedicated team led by Gyan Singh Kshatriya who has a wide reach and vast experience of the trailer industry. He has been included in our Board of Directors in the company. His approach has always been aggressive towards market expansion, customer-centric product development and brand building which has yielded an unprecedented result in a very short span of time. Our infrastructure has been developed in line with the product requirement which has helped us in continual improvements and new design launches at regular intervals. Our experienced research and development team has capitalised on our robust infrastructure and state-of-the-art technology and developed several new features which are unique in the trailer industry.
What is your outlook for FY23-24 and the medium-term future?
We have already secured a growth of 70% in the first half of FY23 as compared to H1FY22. Our growth should be 100% for FY23 on YoY basis. We are very much hopeful for FY24 as we have gained the required popularity and product acceptability across the segments to capitalise on. We have already been adding several specialised trailers such as car carriers, missile-carrying trailers for defence, long ramp trailers for ODC, tankers, bulkers, etc. All these products will give us a bigger market in and outside India. All these put together will bring us a growth of 50-60% for FY24 given the positive industry outlook which is most likely.
Over the long-term, what is Jagdamba Trailers’ ultimate aspiration?
We have always been striving for brand building by focusing on quality product and customer relations. Our goal is to establish Jagdamba Trailers as a globally known brand for all trailer needs and design the best possible trailer solutions for all applications. We are working hard on the requirements of institutional customers from whom most of the requirements will come in the near future. Our goal is to build an image of Jagdamba Trailers as a sole brand of trust and expertise in the trailer world.
