India’s leading manufacturer of tapered leaf springs and parabolic springs for automobiles, Jamna Auto Industries (JAI) took the Prawaas platform to promote its new product line tailor-made for the domestic bus market. The company has come up with air suspension kits for a wide range of bus models, which aim to enhance ride comfort and luxury experience in buses.
“This is our first presence at Prawaas – a right platform for companies like us to understand the requirements of the bus market and receive feedback from different stakeholders”, said Anil Kataria, Zonal Head – Sales, JAI. He added that the response for his company’s products at the show was overwhelming, with more than 500 visitors to their stall on the very first day. “The visitors included bus association members and operators from across the country including South India, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi NCR”, he noted.
Asked on the air suspension kits, Kataria said that JAI has come up with air suspension systems for the rear axle of buses to start with. “The kits have successfully completed trials and tests in multiple buses including that of Ashok Leyland. The product has garnered good response and we are quite bullish on its market success in both aftermarket and OEM segments”, he added.
JAI is keen on ensuring very good market presence in the aftermarket space, before stepping-up the ante with the OEMs. “We would like to contribute to the technological transition happening in the bus market towards passenger comfort by offering new technologies and sophisticated products at reasonable costs. Customers these days value superior quality and reliability of products and are always ready to change if the proposition is convincing”, observed the Zonal Head – Sales.
He further noted that India is looking for strong mass transportation for future development. “Some reports say that 30 lakh new buses are required in our country in the next few years to keep pace with the rising mobility needs. JAI would like to leverage such a big opportunity in the bus market and would like to contribute to the technological change”. JAI has a vibrant R&D and manufacturing prowess along with a robust aftermarket network to make that happen, he added.
