Set up by Mr. Rajinder Aggarwal in 1989 in collaboration with Swaraj Mazda Ltd. for making bus bodies, JCBL soon expanded by providing similar activities for other OEMs such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, etc. Under Mr. Aggarwal’s guidance, JCBL established its fully-equipped R&D Department which helped the company to diversify into special-purpose vehicles like ambulances, blood banks, mobile homes, mobile offices, display vans, election campaign vans, bank ATM vans, riot control vehicles, etc. In 2009, JCBL started manufacturing integral luxury coaches for inter-city and intra-city operations under the brand name Cerita.
The company has technical tie-ups with leading firms like PLA of Italy for motorhomes, Stratiforme of France for fibre glass components, COFI of Italy for refrigerated vans and DOLL of Germany for heavy duty special-purpose trailers.
