Guangzhou Jingyi Automobile Air-Conditioner Corporation, one of China’s leading bus air-conditioning manufacturers, which had signed a joint venture with Trans ACNR Solutions Pvt. Ltd., its face in the Indian market, has rechristened its name as Jingyi Trans Climate Control System India (P) Ltd. The company will brand its products as JTAC for the Indian market.
Trans ACNR has represented Jingyi in India for over a decade now, and with its new plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan going on stream. The new facility of the 51:49 JV, in which Jingyi holds majority stake, will help the company expand its existing footprint in the Indian market, and more importantly, bring down product costs as a result of its Make-in-India assembly operation in North India, which will bypass the need to import AC units from China. Having witnessed an upbeat demand for its products manufactured in India, Jingyi has recently increased its investment from the existing USD $1 million to USD $3 million.
While Jingyi is a major supplier in the Chinese market, working with top bus brands such as Yaxing Benz, Sunwin Volvo, Yutong, Kinglong , Futon and many others, Trans ACNR has established its strong presence in the Indian market, finding the acceptance among a good number of OEM, STU and all key bus body building customer, garnering a sizeable aftermarket share over the last 12 years. Trans ACNR has also covered most parts of the country with its company-owned service network along with channel partners to support customers at different locations.
“Jingyi is a global brand with a strong R&D set-up and a full range of products suitable for 6 m to 18 m buses with different cooling capacities. We are among the top three bus AC makers in the Chinese market with around 25 to 30 per cent share and are the No.1 Chinese brand in India. We are confident of continuing our growth in the Indian market through our cooperation with Trans ACNR”, says Mr. Ouyang Weimin, Chairman, Jingyi Group.
