A forerunner in manufacturing hot forged and precision machined components for automotive OEMs and tier-1 suppliers in India and abroad, JVR Forgings took part in the ACMA Automechanika for the first time. The Ludhiana-based firm produces a wide range of products including bearing, axle, steering, suspension, and transmission components for automobiles including commercial vehicles. It’s client base includes brands like Rane, ZF, TRW, American Axles, Oerlikon, among others.
Speaking on the agenda of his company’s participation in the trade fair, Mr. Gaurav Singal, Director, said: “So far our customers are predominantly in export markets, along with those in India to whom we supply directly. We are not present in the Indian aftermarket either directly or indirectly. But we do realise that the market potential is huge, with many OEMs and suppliers in steering, axle, and transmission arena looking for active partnerships. We are here to explore more on those lines.”
The Director said that his company is not constrained with the existing OEM business, but would like to explore aftermarket in a bid to expand its reach. “We want to know what is going on in this space (aftermarket)… we are not here to sell our products, but to meet people, understand their demands, and explore new opportunities that can help us move forward”, he said.
JVR Forgings garnered immense response at the trade fair, Mr. Singal said. “In the last two days, we have had a lot of products enquiries from various prospective clients, some of them being the direct competitors of our existing clients”, he claimed. Although we are used to bulk numbers, a majority of aftermarket demands are less in numbers, which is equally interesting and appealing”, he added.
