A wheel washer is a supporting device used in wheel servicing. It ensures technological washing of complete car wheels, including both tyres and wheel rims. The efficiency of technological cleaning provided by WULKAN wheel washers is fully sufficient to ensure the wheels are ready for all servicing operations and meet all the necessary requirements in this regard.

Thanks to WULKAN wheel washers, wheels can be washed and dried within just 35 seconds. The drying process begins automatically right after the selected washing cycle. The duration of the washing cycle can be selected depending on the degree of dirt on wheels. A wheel rotates at up to 60 revs a minute, which ensures thorough cleaning. The WULKAN wheel washer is built to work continuously even in the busiest workshop. Every modern workshop requires a wheel washer, and this is already a standard in force today.

A wide range of WULKAN wheel washer models offered is in response to the diverse demand of customers in terms of requirements and expectations. All models use the same washing method and operate in a closed circuit, which means that they do not require connection to a fixed water source. All models are designed for wheels with steel and aluminium rims. However, for aluminium, more complex models with heating elements and pneumatic wheel stabilization units are recommended. All washers have rubber rollers to protect rims from any damage or scratches.

The WULKAN 200, 300 and 300H models are designed for passenger and delivery vehicle wheels, and those models with the “P” letter, namely, WULKAN 360P, 360HP and 4x4HP can additionally wash the wheels of off-road vehicles, SUVs, etc. There is also the possibility of installing a wheel in these models. In turn, WULKAN 500HP is designed for truck wheels. In this case, the letter “P” indicates that this model features a pneumatic system for pushing out the wheel from the washing chamber, eliminating the need to manually remove the wheel from the washing chamber once it has been washed.

Although truck wheels can weigh even 150 kg, they can be washed in this model with practically no physical effort. A pneumatic rotary lift is used for wheel loading and unloading, two versions being available with different loading options: either with a wheel rim holder or with a large wheel basket. The WULKAN 500HP washer is designed to wash specialized truck wheels in truck servicing workshops and those handling truck size wheels, including bus depots.

It is worth explaining the meaning of the symbols found on particular models. “H” (heating) means that the washer is equipped with a water heating system, and thus is computer-controlled. The operator can set any washing and drying time depending on their specific requirements. Thanks to its timer, this model can be also programmed to turn on and off at a specific time, and the washer operation for a whole week can also be programmed. This is an important feature because heating 300 litres of water to approximately 50 degrees Celsius takes from 1 to 2 hours depending on the conditions. Thanks to the programmer, the operator can immediately start washing wheels with heated water as soon as they arrive at the workshop.

The letter “P” means that the washer has a pneumatic wheel stabilization system that also ensures that even the narrowest wheels can be washed by keeping them in a safe, upright position, preventing them from falling over, which could block the washer operation. In addition, this constitutes an additional element of sound insulation to reduce the noise of the washer operation. This solution ensures no mechanical damage is caused to the surface of the disc of the wheel being washed (scratches), including those made of light metal alloys, regardless of its shape.

This is a very important feature due to the unusually wide variety of wheel types on the market. This washer also has a wider washing chamber, with which it will wash not only all passenger and delivery vehicle wheels but also those of off-road vehicles and SUVs up to 360 mm in width.

KART regularly presents its WULKAN wheel washers at the Automechanika trade fair in Frankfurt, where the company stand is always very popular. At last year’s show, KART showed off its greatest sales hits of recent years as well as presented various solutions that support and facilitate wheel washing operations. As many as five different WULKAN wheel washer models were in operation for the public’s evaluation.
