Knorr-Bremse expects significant business growth this year

In 2013 the Knorr-Bremse Group once again posted global sales considerably above 4 billion euros. Against a background of negative Knorr-Bremse-pic-1currency effects, the figure remained constant at 4.3 billion euros (previous year: 4.3 billion euros). The positive order situation boosted the value of incoming orders to a record level of 4.78 billion euros (3.95 billion euros).

Sales in the Rail Vehicle Systems division were slightly up at 2.25 billion euros in 2013 (2.22 billion euros), with positive impetus coming during the year both from the OEM segment, especially in Russia, India and China, and the aftermarket and service segment in Europe.

The Commercial Vehicle Systems division of Knorr-Bremse achieved sales of 2.07 billion euros in 2013 (2.10 billion euros). After a slow first six months, business picked up, especially in Europe and South America, as also in North America.

The Knorr-Bremse Group assumes an overall positive development of its business in 2014 and expects further significant growth.
