Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Systems India (KBI), a recent entrant in the Indian automotive sector, has been recognized for excellence in technology and innovation by Tata Motors Ltd. (TML). A second award came from TML’s truck factory in Jamshedpur.
The Award for Excellence in Technology and Innovation was presented to Knorr-Bremse as one of TML’s 400-plus suppliers at the company’s National Vendor Meet held on June 4 last.
Through its vendor awards, the company recognizes the part played in its progress by its technologically advanced suppliers, among the many global players.
Being aware that innovative products are the need of the hour, KBI rejected the copy/paste culture of the global technology race and focused instead on providing appropriate and relevant technologies to TML. This was particularly important, given that the Indian truck OE’s portfolio includes both older and new generation vehicle platforms.
Based on the level of electronics available in the customer’s existing platforms, KBI developed the appropriate systems for Tata Motors, including an anti-roll back (ARB) system and an electronic stability program (ESP) based on an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
KBI also received the first prize for the innovative technologies at the recently held “Innovendors” competition at TML’s Jamshedpur plant in which suppliers were offered a platform on which to showcase their technologies. KBI was rewarded by the plant management with the first prize for the innovative technologies on show.
On this occasion Knorr-Bremse India reiterated its commitment to serve OEMs with better, safer and innovative products that will help make India’s roads safer for driving.
