Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality
- Lower noise, more corrosion-resistant, more leak-proof and more wear-resistant aluminium floor as standard equipment
- Improved insulation thanks to thicker insulating layers
- Long service life and improved cost-effectiveness
- IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014: New individual features
Kögel, the Burtenbach trailer manufacturer, presents the more advanced version of the 2012-launched Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014. The new, detail-optimised, refrigerated box trailer is adapted to the market requirements for transporting fresh and frozen food as well as pharmaceutical products and has various options which make it suitable for general use too.
Highlights of the Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality standard version
The low-noise aluminium floor construction reduces noise when loading and unloading by up to 10 dB relative to the previous model. The reduction in noise emissions makes deliveries outside regulated opening hours easier.
The new premium refrigerated box also has a welded aluminium floor pan providing improved hygiene and simpler cleaning options in the floor area. The aluminium tray prevents the penetration of moisture into the bearer structures, which significantly increases the life span and the cost-effectiveness of the refrigerated box trailer. The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) requirements for safeguarding consumer health with regard to temperature-controlled food transports in international goods traffic are, of course, met. In addition, the new Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality meets the ATP-FRC requirements.
The maintenance and repair-friendly stainless steel portal is newly equipped with an easily replaceable, optimised four-fold door lip seal and easily replaced hinges on the doors.
Box body with improved insulation
The box body of the Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality contains a more advanced high-quality, 100-percent CFC-free and highly insulating special foam polymer. The robust, easy-to-maintain steel ceiling layer is additionally coated with hard PVC film on the inside. The 45 or 65 millimetres thick walls, 85 millimetres thick ceiling, and 125 millimetres thick floor are made in-house and ensure a significantly improved thermal transfer coefficient (K-value). This efficient protection against temperature effects reduces the energy consumption and cuts costs.
IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014: New individual features
Of course, the Kögel premium refrigerated box is also available with a wide range of individual equipment for the most diverse requirements in the various fields of use. All the new features can be seen on the IAA Commercial Vehicles: For example, the additionally installed variable impact-protection rubber bumper on the end of the longitudinal beam and all around the portal frame. For optimum protection of the front wall and the evaporator as well as for improved airflow, Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality is equipped with the newly developed Kögel impact bulkhead. This bulkhead that consists of individual aluminium V-profiles is not only flexible and easy to disassemble for cleaning, but also provides the best protection even under the toughest conditions. For optimum load-securing in distribution and particularly in fresh food and flower transports, four rows of round-hole rails are now available in the floor and roof for the use of telescopic locking bars.
Load-securing
Optional tier and anchoring rails, directly moulded into the walls, not only make the fitting of a complicated structure superfluous, but also help the driver to secure his load in a time-saving and reliable manner. In addition, the trailer has, as standard, a load-securing certificate in accordance with DIN EN 12642 Code XL. This is particularly suitable for the form-fit transport of general cargo and palletised goods.
Cooling system
The Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality can be fitted out with the Kögel CLIMATEX cool air system as an option. CLIMATEX consists of a specially shaped and perforated air-ducting plate on the front wall, together with a patented, ceiling-level air-duct. The aluminium sheet on the front wall is chamfered on the sides and has recesses. It serves as bump protection and a spacer for the front wall and ensures a directed return airflow in the front part of the vehicle. On the other hand, together with the ceiling-level air-duct, it prevents the cooled air delivered by the refrigeration unit from being immediately drawn in again and rendering the cooling system ineffective.
Telematics
Optionally installed in the new Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality: the Kögel Telematics system. Thus, Kögel customers will benefit from an ultra-modern telematic system, which provides real-time access to location, cooling, trailer, and EBS data.
Aerodynamics
As an option, the new Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality is also equipped with an aerodynamic fairing, a roof diffuser and a boat-tail. These measures reduce the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
Cathodic dip-paint coating: lasting protection against corrosion
In the Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality, the entire trailer frame is also given long-lasting protection against corrosion by nano-ceramic and cathodic dip-paint coating, supplemented with UV lacquering.
