Get connected – This is Krone’s motto for this year’s IAA 2016. “We consciously chose this guiding principle, since the goal of a networked, digitalised world is now within our grasp. Connectivity is the all-encompassing magic word of the logistics industry today when it comes to getting fit for the future. All the participants in the transport chain are being asked to communicate with other partners. This intense dialogue by means of partnerships and networking in the logistics sector has a long tradition, but now, thanks to digital solutions, we can achieve a new quality”, explains Bernard Krone, Managing Partner.
“Everyday, we ask ourselves how we can make our trailer portfolio more efficient. In the process, we focus not only on the vehicle technology, but also on the overall processes of our customers. Telematics plays a decisive role here. Systems such as temperature recorders or our Door Protect door monitoring are already well proven. At the IAA, we are now presenting other new solutions, e.g. Telematics Smart Collect as well as an intelligent load compartment monitoring. If we were to exaggerate the point, after the paperless office comes the paperless trailer, the communication between the loader, driver and dispatchers can take place through WLAN, this makes processes much easier. Important documents such as transport documents, certificates, maintenance documents and general information are available in digital form. In case of damage, for example, the vehicle-specific spare parts catalogue can be directly accessed“ says Mr. Krone.
