With the ever-evolving dynamics of the global business landscape, supply chain management has become more complex than ever. In this demanding, digital and frequently disrupted world, it is imperative for companies to have transparent and robust supply chain solutions to stay ahead of the competition. KSH Logistics has been a leader in this sector and as Snehil A Singhai, Head of Business Development, KSH Logistics points out in this interaction with Rajesh Rajgor, it is the use of technology that matters most to create the right solutions
KSH Logistics, an integrated supply chain logistics service provider, has been at the forefront of providing cutting-edge logistics and warehousing solutions in India for over two decades. It has a strong presence in West, North and South India, catering to a wide range of industry verticals including automotive, industrials, fast-moving consumer durables, fast-moving consumer goods, general merchandise, furniture, e-commerce and retail. With a million square feet of dedicated warehousing and over 3 lakh square feet of multi-client warehousing facilities, KSH Logistics offers a comprehensive suite of services.
These include line feed, in-plant operations, RM and FG warehouses, DC consolidation model and network optimisation services through their ‘A’ grade-compliant multi-client facility (MCF) and mobility services across key markets in India. “We understand the unique requirements of each industry vertical and work closely with our clients to create tailored end-to-end supply chain solutions that optimise their operations and drive growth,” says Snehil Singhai, Head of Business Development at KSH Logistics. “Our aim is to provide flexible and scalable solutions to meet both long-term and short-term requirements of our clients, and we do so through our asset-light, plug-and-play model, which allows for pay-per-use for demand-driven warehousing.”
Transparent and Robust
To make their clients’ supply chain transparent and robust, KSH Logistics leverages technology and architecture to enable real-time visibility into SKUs (stock-keeping units) and integrates their warehouse management system (WMS) and transportation management system (TMS) solutions with clients’ ERP systems. This allows their clients to have real-time visibility into their supply chain activities, resulting in operational cost savings of up to 10%. Additionally, their TMS solution includes features such as shipment visibility, e-pod (electronic proof of delivery) management and geo-fencing, which further enhance supply chain visibility and efficiency.
“We believe that technology plays a crucial role in driving operational efficiency in logistics and supply chain management. Hence, we constantly upgrade our systems and invest in automation to streamline our operations, reduce costs and improve customer service,” explains Singhai. KSH Logistics employs advanced tracking and monitoring tools, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms for predictive analytics and route optimisation. They are also adopting blockchain technology for secure and transparent logistics management.
Leveraging Technology to Expand Reach
KSH Logistics takes pride in their strong clientele, which includes some of the world’s leading automotive, engineering, textile machine manufacturers, packaging and consumer durable companies. They strive to add value to their clients’ businesses by solving existing problems and challenges through their innovative solutions. “Flexibility and scalability are the key demands of our clients and we provide value-added services such as complete pre-packing and kitting services in our multi-client warehouses, which accelerate their delivery process and lead to an exponential increase in their sales,” Snehil Singhai informs.
Furthermore, KSH Logistics has a fleet of over 100 vehicles with an average age of less than seven years. They have also incorporated electric vehicles (EVs) for secondary distributions to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to environmental sustainability. “We use the latest technology for regular vehicle maintenance, driver training and complete vehicle tracking to ensure optimum asset utilisation and operational efficiency. All this is very necessary in today’s competitive environment where cost-saving and maximising profitability are the key factors that drive business sustainability,” states Singhai.
Medium to Long-Term Goals
According to Snehil Singhai, the company has ambitious plans for medium to long-term growth in the Indian market. Over the next five years, they aim to increase their growth rate by 30% to 50%. To achieve this, KSH Logistics has outlined several strategic initiatives. “Firstly, we plan to extend our multi-client warehouse facilities (MCF) across the country. This expansion includes opening new MCFs in Bangalore and Delhi NCR to cater to the growing demand for automotive and industrial products in these regions. This expansion will help us to better serve our clients and meet their warehousing needs.”
“Secondly, KSH Logistics intends to expand their standalone warehouse and transportation operations. This means they will be increasing their warehouse and transportation capacities to cater to the growing demand for logistics services in India. This expansion will allow them to serve a larger customer base and capture a larger share of the market,” he adds. Additionally, the company has plans to invest in warehouse automation and technological tools. By leveraging automation and technology, they aim to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer service. This investment in technology will help them stay at the forefront of the logistics industry and provide cutting-edge solutions to their clients.
“Furthermore, KSH Logistics is also focusing on sustainability by expanding their electric vehicles’ fleet. This move is aligned with our clients’ ESG (environmental, social and governance) targets and will enable them to provide eco-friendly transportation solutions,” adds Singhai. In addition to their physical expansion and technological investments, KSH Logistics also offers a variety of consultative services to their clients. These include supply chain consulting, logistics optimisation and process improvement, among others. This reflects their commitment to being a strategic partner to their clients while providing comprehensive solutions to meet their logistics needs.
