At IAA Transportation, Lamilux Composites unveiled its latest innovation, Lamilux Sunsation, a cutting-edge surface technology designed for reinforced fiberglass. This new product offers a remarkable 20 times better resistance against UV radiation compared to conventional GRP, delivering enhanced durability and aesthetics. N. Balasubramanian spoke to Oliver Liebsch, Head of Sales & Marketing, and Christopher Uhl, Sales Manager, Lamilux Composites, who shared insights on the company’s advancements and market strategies during the event.
Innovative Technology for Enhanced Performance
Christopher Uhl expressed excitement about the potential of Lamilux Sunsation, stating, “This year, we are excited to present our latest development, Lamilux Sunsation. It’s our innovative surface technology for reinforced fiberglass, offering 20 times better resistance against UV radiation than traditional GRP. Sunsation provides our customers with significant benefits, including reduced maintenance, enhanced color stability, and a more attractive, glossy finish over time, even in harsh conditions.”

Oliver Liebsch, Head of Sales & Marketing, acknowledged the broader challenges the industry faces. “The business is generally doing well, despite the various global crises we face. We’ve encountered raw material shortages over the past few years, which have posed challenges for everyone, including us. However, we are focused on growth in different sectors,” he noted.
Lamilux has a strong history of growth, and Oliver highlighted the company’s resilience: “Historically, we’ve seen substantial growth over the last 30 years, and we are actively seeking new applications and industries for expansion.”

Christopher reflected on Lamilux’s growth in India, emphasizing the company’s commitment to building strong relationships with customers. “Overall, we are pleased with our progress in India. As Oliver mentioned, we’ve all been affected by various global challenges, but our team in India has done an outstanding job establishing Lamilux as a trusted and recognized brand in the market. Our customers are increasingly realizing that investing in high-quality products yields long-term benefits regarding durability and maintenance,” he explained.

Now, when you visit exhibitions in India, GRP is predominantly featured. This shift indicates a significant market change, thanks to Lamilux and others in the industry. Our team in India, led by Rohan and Manjul, are doing a great job and have established very good relationship with customers”, he remarked.
Christopher further commented on the company’s growth strategy, stating, “We are witnessing Lamilux’s continued growth in the market.
