Madhus Garage Equipment Pvt. Ltd., a leading name in the Indian automotive service industry, has recently forged a significant partnership with GYS, a renowned French company with over 60 years of expertise in welding equipment. This collaboration aims to enhance Madhus product portfolio and further strengthen its market presence.
“Our primary goal with this partnership is to leverage our unparalleled service track record and expand our product offerings,” says Nikhil B., Deputy Managing Director of Madhus Garage Equipment. Madhus, known for its premium equipment and comprehensive service network, aims to become a one-stop solution for all customers, catering to diverse needs from high-end Porsche workshops to small tyre shops.
Madhus operates with a unique business model that ensures minimal downtime and rapid service, a model that has been recognized and respected by every original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India. “The major advantage of the Madhus business model is that we are able to reduce downtimes and provide faster service,” he explains. This focus on premium equipment and direct sales has positioned them for steady growth, which they now plan to accelerate by leveraging their strengths to further expand their sales.
Transforming Automotive Services through Strategic Partnerships
GYS, with its strong brand presence in India over the past decade, faced challenges due to inconsistent service support from previous partners. “We believe GYS was looking for a strong partner, and our reputation for good customer service made us a natural fit,” says Nikhil. This collaboration officially began in October 2023, and since then, Madhus has aggressively promoted and sold GYS equipment across India, including in workshops for major brands like Kia, Hyundai, and Maruti. “Within six to seven months, we have done more business with GYS than their previous partners”, he adds.
The partnership focuses on providing advanced welding solutions and battery support units (BSUs), catering to the growing demand for high-quality, technology-driven automotive services in India. Emphasizing further, Nikhil shares: “GYS products have always been very affordable for the features they offer.” The competitive pricing and quality of GYS products make them a preferred choice over generic, non-branded equipment. Madhus has supplied dozens of these BSUs to prestigious workshops, including those of BMW and Mercedes Benz.
Madhus commitment to training and after-sales support is evident as they extend comprehensive training programs through their centers in Bangalore, Delhi, and Pune. “We provide hands-on training to mechanics and technicians to ensure they are well-versed with the equipment,” adds Nikhil. In January, Madhus sent the largest-ever delegation by an Indian company to GYS, comprising four key team members, for extensive product and service training. “This shows our commitment to GYS and their respect for Madhus,” he reveals.
Strengthening Position in Indian Automotive Services
Looking ahead, Madhus aims to significantly increase the sales of GYS welding units and continue to exceed customer expectations. “We have set a goal of selling 40-50 high-end welding units, such as the PTI S7, within this calendar year,” reveals Nikhil. The PTI S7, a top-of-the-line model, is approved by major OEMs like Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Audi, highlighting its quality and reliability.
Nikhil emphasizes GYS’s commitment to the Indian market, which aligns with Madhus strategic goal to provide comprehensive automotive service solutions. “GYS wants to be a strong player in India for many years and be part of the transformation of the Indian body shop industry,” he says. GYS products are designed to be rugged and durable, capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of Indian workshops without requiring customization.
By offering a wide range of solutions and maintaining high standards of service and support, Madhus and GYS aim to revolutionize the automotive service industry in India. “Our vision is to grow our business by providing all possible solutions to our customers, which no other company in the industry is able to do as of now,” concludes Nikhil.
This partnership not only strengthens Madhus position in the market but also aligns with GYS’s long-term vision of being a significant player in India, contributing to the evolving landscape of the Indian automotive service industry.
