Coveted Transport Excellence Awards turns eight

The outperformers of the transport industry were once again rewarded for their stupendous efforts at the Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2018. Instituted in 2011, the Awards recognize and rewards various stakeholders in the trucking industry on parameters such as Outperformance, Excellence, Innovation and Change Leadership in the transport ecosystem.

The eighth edition of the Awards ceremony held in New Delhi on March 19 was graced by Mr. Y.S. Malik, Secretary – Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, as the Chief Guest.

The Awards ceremony started with a panel discussion on “Commercial Vehicles & Road Safety” that focused on various measures required from transport ecosystem stockholders to enhance road safety. The participants were Mr. Y.S. Malik, Mr. Vinod Sahay, CEO, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division and Mahindra Construction Equipment Division, Mr. Rakesh Batra, Partner & Sector Leader – Automotive, Ernst & Young LLP, Mr. Arun Bagavathi, Vice-President, Supply Chain Operations, Delhivery Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Chirag Katira, Director, SNGT Pvt. Ltd., Ms. Tanvi Naik, Director, Reema Transport, Mr. Rajkumar Gupta, Head – National Logistics, ACC, and Ms. Yogita Raghuvanshi, Lady HCV Truck Driver.

The Mahindra Transport Excellence recognizes the valuable contribution that various stakeholders make in the transport ecosystem to turn the wheels of economy. Be it the transporters, drivers, dhaba owners, financiers or the not-for-profit organizations, they have all been the unsung heroes in the success story of the Indian economy. The company hopes that these awards will go a long way in encouraging today’s generation to look at the transport industry as an attractive proposition for entrepreneurship.

The overall theme for this year’s programme was ‘Change’, as it recognized those who have excelled even in the face of disruptive change and highlighted its commitment to the transport sector and the entire ecosystem associated with it.
