MANN+HUMMEL is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of filtration systems. The 75-year-old company entered the Indian market in 2005 by setting up MANN and HUMMEL Filter Private Ltd. in Bangalore. The Indian subsidiary has grown at a steady pace over the last decade and has its presence in passenger car, off-highway, commercial vehicles and industrial segments. It also supplies filters to leading names like Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors.
Commenting on the company’s targets for 2020 in terms of products, new segments, financials, and technology adoption, Mr. Pradeep Randhawa, Managing Director, MANN and HUMMEL Filter Private Ltd., said: “We want to introduce integrated air filtration solutions, a complete range of liquid filtration systems, light weighting solutions, cabin air filtration, car air purifiers, and EDM and plate gap filtration systems. We also want to enter new segments like industrial air filtration and enhance our independent after-market penetration with a wide range of global product portfolio”.
He also stated that the primary objective is to increase revenue twofold in 2020. The company further proposes to introduce products to support downsizing of engines, BS-VI norms and the vehicle platform strategy of OEMs.
MANN+HUMMEL has its strong presence in India with all the major OEMs in industrial, passenger car, commercial vehicle, and off-highway segments. The company has its manufacturing facilities in multiple locations to cater to the needs of customers in different parts of the country.
The company has managed to maintain a double-digit growth in India so far and plans to grow at a similar pace in the future as well. It hopes to achieve the targets set by introducing new products and expanding into new segments.
On the company’s key focus areas until 2020, Mr. Randhawa observed: “We want to focus on operational excellence, customer solutions, and expertise in filtration.”
