Busworld India 2018 was flooded with micro-solutions providers related to bus manufacturing and maintenance. McCoy Soudal was one among them, a manufacturer of a wide variety of products like silicone sealants, PU sealants, hybrid sealants, acrylics sealants and adhesives for a diverse range of interior and exterior applications.
The company is a 50:50 joint venture between the McCoy Group of India and the Soudal Group of Belgium, with the manufacturing plant at Bawal, Haryana.
The company caters to an array of verticals and applications, among which ‘transportation’ under Industrial is one.
At the expo, the company displayed adhesive and sealant products for direct glazing and panel bonding, which are of enormous importance to bus and coach manufacturing.
Some of their direct applications include structural bonding of skirt and stretch panels of the body and roofs of buses, GRP and FRP bonding, floor bonding, cosmetic finishing, moulding and trim finishing, interior sealing and sealing of all joints, seams and panel gaps, and glazing of windshield and window glasses.
“Bus manufacturing is one industry where innovative and sustainable sealing and bonding solutions are needed. For instance, fabricators are looking for effective pasting solutions for vinyl bonding that are not solvent based. We at McCoy Soudal specialize in solvent-free, water-based adhesives that are non-hazardous to workers who handle them and greener to the environment as well”, said Mr. Mukesh Srivastava, DGM – Industry, McCoy Soudal.
At the Busworld, the target customers for the company were OEMs and body fabricators, HVAC suppliers, vinyl and trim decors, seating solution providers, and so on. “The flagship garnered most enquiries was ‘Soudabond 6360A’, a universal, ready-to-use dispersion adhesive for bonding of elastic flooring materials to flat surfaces. Acetoxy silicone sealants and polyurethane sealants also attracted client attention”, Mr. Srivastava said.
He added that Busworld 2018 brought a substantial number of enquiries from new potential clients.
