Michelin has announced the launch of its flagship Green Guide series in India. The launch of the Chennai and Tamil Nadu Green Guide edition is the first in the series, encouraging travellers from across the world to explore the rich heritage and culture of diverse India.

The MICHELIN Green Guide launch is a testimony of the company’s long-time commitment to enhance mobility in India, not only by offering the world’s best tyres to Indian customers, but also by introducing Green Guides to India providing information that will help users explore and be mobile, adding to the overall travel experience in the country.

“At Michelin, our core mission is to enhance mobility around the world not only through innovative Michelin tyres, but also through our flagship mobility assets such as the Green Guide. We are excited to bring our Green Guides to India, starting with the Tamil Nadu and Chennai editions. With this launch, we aim to promote and improve travel experience in Tamil Nadu by making it safer and more enjoyable for travellers from all over India and also from overseas”, said Mr. Prashant Prabhu, President, Michelin Group Africa, India and Middle East.

We hope that with Green Guide coming to India, we can contribute to the nation’s burgeoning tourism industry”, he added.

The MICHELIN Green Guide on Chennai and Tamil Nadu offers a detailed array of insider tips and local information that helps visitors to become immersed in this region. While using the Green Guide travellers will get details on diverse aspects of the region – the people, the history, culinary traditions, cultural conducts and many other authentic experiences.

The Tamil Nadu Green Guide is beautifully illustrated with full-color photographs, scores of Michelin maps and insider coverage of shopping, nightlife, accommodations and restaurants.

The first MICHELIN Green Guide for an Indian region has already enthused the public when Facebook consumers from across India chose the Green Guide front cover on the Michelin India Facebook page. Over 180,000 followers were invited to vote and select the cover of the Michelin Green Guide. The winning photograph that depicts a woman in traditional attire drawing ‘kolam’ won with over four lakh votes and was chosen to be the cover of the Green Guide.
