Mithra Kyokuto manufactures tipper models with support from its parent company Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo Co. Pvt. Ltd., a pioneer in Japan for tipper and truck mixer technology. When the Mithra Kyokuto JV was set up in India, the company had planned for building a stable business model by selling 100 tippers and 50 concrete mixers per month. At present the JV is focusing on coal mining and infrastructure segments to achieve its targets.
Mr. Takeo Norimitsu, Executive Officer, Overseas Business Development Division, Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo, Japan, shares his company’s focus for the next few years in the Indian market and its expansion plans: “By 2020, Mithra Kyokuto aims to sell 300 tippers and 100 concrete mixers per month. To achieve our target, we will expand our tipper business with OEMs and increase the number of tipper variants like exhaust heat body, coal body, etc. We are also planning to export our products to African and South-East Asian countries. We are working on increasing our market share in concrete mixers by expanding to potential markets.”
After consolidating its market for tippers and concrete mixers in India, the company is now planning to expand its product range by introducing logistics vehicles like vans with wing bodies and environmental vehicles like garbage compactors here. “Multi-Level Parking System in Metro and Tier-1 cities is another big business opportunity in India for us. These products are already manufactured and marketed globally by Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo Co. Ltd., Japan,” he adds.
