MOTORZONE, an integrated service outlet for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, buses and trucks has started a spares & quick service facility at the Koyembedu CMDA lorry parking yard to provide exclusive support to the members of the Omni Bus Association and other truck association members, private operators, SETC, MTC, etc.
The outlet was inaugurated on February 19 by Mr. E. Jeyagopu, Ex. Service & Reliability Head, Ashok Leyland, in the presence of CMDA officials, fleet operators, OEM fraternity, spareparts retailers, distributors, tyre manufacturers, etc.
Developed by RACE Innovations (P) Ltd., a consulting company specializing in automobile & transportation, MOTORZONE offers each OEM defined premises with working bays and trained manpower, genuine parts, body/paint shop, A/C and pump repair facility, tyre care, etc. These are shared by OEMs to effectively manage their resources.
The outlet at Koyembedu will be the city connect to its main workshop at Red Hills, Chennai. All major jobs and all minor repairs, as well as breakdown and maintenance will be attended to from the outlet.
The Koyembedu facility carries all genuine and aftermarket parts for Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Volvo, Mercedes, Tata Motors and SML-Isuzu and has trained manpower to provide quick service.
The facility also offers oil services, dynamo & starter motor, retarder (Telma, Voith and Brakes India), air-conditioning, tyre puncture (radial & nylon), tyre retread (radial & nylon), glass R&R, brake adjustments, clutch repair works, body tinkering, nipple greasing, seat & interior cleaning and lining works.
MOTORZONE has recently tied up with Bremskel, a leading manufacturer of electromagnetic clutches and brakes, for sole distribution of parts in southern India. This will help it to leverage its “Parts Zone” to expand its business and also to service its customers more effectively.
In its pursuit of optimum road safety, it has also arranged for the Sixth Sensor Technology for collision warning system to be fitted in buses, to start with. These units are already fitted in the Volvo buses of Parveen Travels and VRL on a trail run, and the response has been quite encouraging. As such, the system will be fitted in more buses in the coming days.
