Mr. Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), Tata Motors Ltd. has been appointed as the Vice-President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the apex industry body representing leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India. Mr. Pisharody was unanimously elected for the post by the SIAM executive committee.
Talking about his new responsibility at SIAM, Mr. Pisharody said, “I look forward to my new role as the Vice-President. I understand that the role would be challenging and I would like to pitch in with my contributions and help strengthen the team further so that we can move towards our common goals.”
Mr. Pisharody is a senior management professional, with over 30 years of executive experience and has held national, regional, global leadership roles in sales, marketing, business management and strategy development. Apart from being the Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), he is also on board of various Tata Group Companies such as Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd., Tata Cummins Ltd., Tata International Ltd., Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Ltd., South Korea and Tata Motors South Africa.
Mr. Pisharody has a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the IIM, Calcutta.
SIAM facilitates dialogue between the Indian automobile industry, the government, national and international organizations. SIAM also works closely with concerned stake holders and helps evolve rules, regulations and policies related to the automobile industry.
