Nandan Petrochem Ltd. (NPL) was founded by Mr. Shreenarayan Agrawal in 1992 for manufacturing and marketing automotive and industrial lubricating oils, greases, speciality products, etc. The scope of operation includes contract blending & filling for multinational companies (MNCs) and public sector undertakings (PSUs).
NPL has access to the latest technology in oils and greases by virtue of being the oldest and largest contract manufacturer in the country. The company has assisted top-notch MNCs to roll out their international brands by setting up state-of-the-art lube oil blending plants as per global standards. It has three lube oil blending plants with a total capacity of 60,500 kl on single shift basis. All these plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified.
The company has developed an expertise for manufacturing tailor-made genuine oil for major OEMs over the years. Depending on the application, suitable oils are formulated to meet the requirement. Some of the key OEMs that have partnered with the company are Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., Greaves Cotton Ltd., Premium Energy Transmission Ltd., Escorts Ltd., Bharat Earth Movers Ltd., and Usha International Ltd.
The company offerings to OEMs include lubrication technology consultation, shared technical trends information, engineering support and liaison, reliable nationwide supply and ethical business relationship.
Pact with Meguin GmbH
NPL has entered into an agreement with Meguin GmbH and Co. KG, Germany, for manufacturing and marketing Meguin lubricants and car care additives in India. Meguin, founded in Germany in 1847, represents 160 years of experience in lubricants and stands for quality and sophisticated new product ideas. The company initially produced hoof greases, linseed oils and carriage lubricants. It expanded in 1890 to encompass lubricants for the rapidly expanding steel industry and the emergence of the automobile industry.
On June 2, 2006, Meguin was merged with the world leader in additives, Liqui Moly. The merged entity now enjoys leadership in both lubricants and additives on a global scale.
Today Meguin with Liqui Moly has presence in over 95 countries throughout the world. In addition to consumer needs for oils, it provides total oil solutions to major industries and OEMs the world over.
OEM approvals
The quality of lubricant is a key parameter for operation of the engine/machine. NPL has proved its ability to produce the highest quality lubricants by obtaining approval from several OEMs. For Greaves Cotton Ltd., it developed a special tailor-made engine oil which doubled the oil change interval from 250 hours to 500 hours.
NPL’s R&D activities are an integral part of its overall operations and are directed towards the corporate objective of growth and excellence. Equipped with modern testing facilities, the R&D Division has developed customized lubricants to meet the requirements of its OEM customers.
Super clean oils meeting NAS 6 specifications, considered to be a tough challenge even at the international level, have been developed for BEML for its heavy earth-moving equipments which are used in hostile environments such as coal mining, road constructions, etc.
