In an exclusive interaction with Durgadutt Nedungadi, Senior Vice President, Netradyne, Rajesh Rajgor reveals that Netradyne, a Make-in-India AI technology provider for fleet and driver safety, is pioneering the industry with its advanced vision-based technology, Driver-i, which integrates analytics algorithms, AI, ML, and hybrid cloud for real-time monitoring. The company recently partnered with GreenLine Mobility Solutions, focusing on enhancing safety and eco-friendly transportation, showcasing a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions in LNG trucks.
Netradyne, a company from India, is a leader in using AI technology to keep drivers and fleets safe. They have a special technology called Driver-i, which is like a smart system using advanced cameras and clever computer programs. These cameras watch what’s happening outside and inside the vehicles in real-time. Netradyne has teamed up with GreenLine Mobility Solutions, a big trucking company using eco-friendly LNG power, to make roads safer. This partnership is a big step toward using smart technology for safety and being kind to the environment.
The collaboration aims to elevate fleet and driver safety standards, integrating Netradyne’s flagship product, Driver-i, renowned for its advanced vision-based technology. This collaboration is a significant move towards transforming road safety and ensuring eco-friendly transportation. GreenLine’s LNG trucks, featuring up to a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions and other environmental benefits, will leverage Driver-i for real-time assessment of driving behavior, allowing targeted training programs for enhanced safety measures. The partnership signifies a convergence of cutting- edge technology and environmental consciousness, paving the way for a safer and more sustainable transportation industry.
“The external camera recognizes potential infractions, such as driving too close to the vehicle in front, alerting the driver for corrective action,” explains Nedungadi. This instantaneous feedback loop, facilitated by advanced algorithms, ensures that drivers are promptly informed of unsafe practices, allowing them to take corrective measures and, consequently, enhancing overall safety on the road.
Commenting on the collaboration, Anand Mimani, CEO, GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, said, “We take immense pride in our established presence within the logistics sector, committed to decarbonising India’s logistics landscape. This collaboration epitomises our collective commitment to pioneering advanced safety standards. By integrating Netradyne’s Driver-i, our goal is to enhance driver safety, fostering a secure environment for our dedicated drivers while delivering superior service excellence to our customers.”
Driver-i Triumphs Globally
What sets Netradyne apart is its commitment to harnessing indigenous technological capabilities. Nedungadi proudly asserts, “Our device is manufactured with our partners in Gurugram, and it is exported globally.” The emphasis on localization, with the exception of specific components, underscores India’s burgeoning role as a hub for technological innovation and manufacturing prowess.
Despite facing a slightly slower adoption in India, Netradyne’s Driver-i technology has witnessed remarkable success globally, particularly in the United States. The deployment of over 250,000 vehicles with Driver-i technology attests to its efficacy in addressing the safety concerns of diverse fleets.
Nedungadi sheds light on the product intricacies, explaining that within the Driveri portfolio, there are variants with different camera configurations. These include two-camera and four-camera devices, each offering a unique perspective – outward, inward, and side views. The incorporation of additional external cameras provides a comprehensive 360-degree surround view for enhanced safety and exoneration.
Engaging with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) is a significant aspect of Netradyne’s strategy. Nedungadi notes, “The algorithms and technology are the same, which every OEM wants.” This underscores the universality and desirability of Netradyne’s solutions, with discussions underway for potential collaborations to address varied use cases, such as commercial fleets, employee transportation, and school buses.
Roadmap for Sustained Exponential Growth
The company’s cautious approach to global expansion aligns with its commitment to ensuring a seamless customer experience. Netradyne’s presence in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, NZ, the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands reflects a strategic global footprint. Nedungadi emphasizes the importance of understanding regional road characteristics before expanding, ensuring precision and reliability in their offerings.
Looking towards the future, Nedungadi projects a sustained exponential growth trajectory, expecting to maintain a 100% growth rate in deployed units for the next 3 to 4 years. This projection is grounded in the observation that adoptions are not only burgeoning in new markets but also experiencing significant growth in existing ones.
In addressing concerns about monitoring, Nedungadi provides a nuanced perspective. He clarifies, “The intent is not to monitor as a big brother but to observe behavior and take corrective action. It’s about behavior, not surveillance.” This distinction underlines Netradyne’s commitment to proactive safety measures and the improvement of driver behavior rather than intrusive monitoring.
