In an exclusive interview to MOTORINDIA, Mr. Dan Anderrson, Vice President – OEM, Large Engine Group, Dinex, speaks about his company’s recent acquisition of Ecocat, a Finnish Group and its Indian business. He said, “In 2013, our company acquired the Finland based Ecocat, which provides technical solutions for modern day heavy-duty exhaust systems. Ecocat had expanded in to India in mid-2000 through a joint venture with the Vikas Group, a leading automotive supplier in New Delhi. They are now our partners in India with 80 per cent stake in the JV. We have had many insights in to the Indian market through our new partners.”
Today Dinex is a global supplier of complete systems of Euro IV and V for the truck segment and future Tier IV final products that are combination of DPF and SCR systems for the off road machinery segment. With future emission regulations implemented globally Dinex will be in a unique position to supply and produce substrates and coatings for after treatment systems all over the world. With the Indian governments new fuel policy getting implemented in stages, Mr. Anderrson hopes that by 2017-18 the market will be ready to take in new technologies and is also the right time for his company’s products to grow. There is also a possibility that the European OEMs like Daimler, MAN, Scania move their production lines in India for the new exhaust systems.
In India, the Danish manufacturer has been working with leading OEMs like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and M&M for their commercial vehicles and people carriers. With the country’s position being strategically located in the midst of the Western and the Eastern worlds, Dinex is also planning to open up its new facility in India, in the near future to cater to the rest of the geographies.
