Scheduled from 11-12 July 2024 at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi, the upcoming 8th edition of NGV India Summit organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India will focus on the theme of ‘Navigating India’s Clean Mobility Transition’ by discussing the environmental impact caused by conventional vehicles vis-a-vis India’s steadfast approach in steadily adopting the natural gas vehicles.
Expressing his thoughts on the upcoming edition of NGV India Summit 2024, Mr Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, said: “Since the premiere edition of NGV India Summit in 2016, the forum has drawn the attention of the energy sector and automotive industry professionals towards clean mobility technologies. Entering the 8th edition, I am proud to share that the summit has turned out to be one of the most-awaited conferences to stay updated on the natural gas and green energy solutions and global scenario. From adapting the multi-fuel vehicles to transitioning towards clean mobility solutions, the NGV India Summit has been growing parallelly with India’s growth trajectory towards a gas-based economy. We appreciate the participation of all our speakers who will share valuable insights and pave the sector’s way forward.”
Moving progressively towards its net-zero target by 2070, multiple challenges disguised as opportunities stand in front of India to achieve zero CO2 emissions. Collaborative steps taken by the NITI Aayog, nodal Government ministries along with the private industry players leading India’s energy and mobility (automotive) sector, have started shaping up as big strides towards diversifying the energy basket and reducing dependence on petroleum imports.
One of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions is the mobility and transportation sector, largely dependent on petroleum. Among the alternative fuels, the compressed natural gas (CNG) market has so far witnessed maximum growth. The global demand for CNG vehicles is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 10.9% between 2023 and 2033. As the Indian government is pushing to grow the contribution of natural gas to the economy from its current share of roughly around 6% to 15% by 2030, India is also eyeing investments of USD 4.95 million from the gas companies to develop a robust supply chain facilitating the availability of this clean fuel across the Indian geography, especially in north-eastern states and northern federal territories by constructing a natural gas pipeline infrastructure.
With this, the upcoming NGV India Summit is ready to bring on the dais the industry experts from the concerned Ministries, government bodies and private companies to discuss what’s likely next to be expected in the sector. The two-day conference will engage the speakers in a series of curated sessions bringing under-emphasis areas like:
- Charting India is its multi-fuels roadmap in the transition towards Clean Mobility
- Vision 2030 India: Becoming a Gas-based Economy; Expansion in gas
infrastructure (CNG-LNG)
- Hydrogen Infrastructure: Production, Storage & Transportation
- Opportunity areas: Electrolyser, modelling fuel-cell
- CNG Economics: Volatility in pricing hampering the growth of CNG segment
- Opportunities in Ethanol Production for sugar and agro-industry – addressing the
supply-side constraint
- Government Scheme & Policies in fostering the fast adoption of flex-fuel vehicles in India
- Waste-to-Wealth economy: An update on CBG/ Bio-CNG plant set-up projects in India
The panel will feature eminent speakers from the ministries, government bodies, leading state transport entities, gas marketing companies, City Gas Distributors (CGD), automotive OEMs, leading market players for new technology, solutions in clean mobility space, key industry associations in natural gas, automobile segment and other allied sectors sharing their opinions and perspectives.
Under the theme ‘Navigating India’s Clean Mobility Transition’, leaders from natural gas sector and alternative fuels alongside captains of the automotive industry- leading OEMs and auto component majors will come together to discuss in-depth the vast opportunities, potential synergies, growth avenues and solutions to challenges as India navigates through the Clean Mobility Transition.
The two-day conference will see visitors from electrolyser and fuel cell manufacturing, OMCs, gas storage and transportation infrastructure, automotive OEMs & auto component manufacturers, technology solution providers, EPC firms, natural gas producers, oil and gas companies, transport industry, fleet owners, shared mobility, sugar and agro-based industries besides others, making it an unmissable summit for the Indian energy sector.
