Nooteboom is one of Europe’s leading companies making trailers for special transport and heavy haulage. While the company’s primary market continues to be Europe, it is keenly studying the Indian market for the possibility of introducing its products and solutions for customers in the country. Mr. Johan Nieuwenhuis, Export Sales Manager, Nooteboom Trailers B.V., gives us some brief updates.
Excerpts:
2016 review
For Nooteboom, 2016 was a very good year with increasing sales in new trailers as well as in used trailers. Europe continues to remain our most important market. Our new Manoovr semi low-loader won several international awards including the ESTA Award of Excellence. Demand for these new generation semi low-loaders has grown considerably across global markets.
Outlook for current year
In 2017, we made a perfect start with sales above expectations. We expect that the high demand in Europe will continue this year. For the Indian market, we are not active enough to make a forecast yet.
Sales & financial targets
Globally we do around a thousand trailers every year. We made a turnover of around 100 million Euro in 2016. We expect a similar level of sales for 2017, perhaps a little higher. Growing in turnover is not our main goal though. We want to build the best trailers at the highest quality for our customers.
