Overview of economical supportive measures in most European Countries

The coronavirus is striking each and every economical sector, unfortunately the bus and coach sector is one of the sectors that is hit with an unprecedented force. Of course our thoughts as a sector are first going to the many family tragedies around the world. Following the measures developed by expert scientists and implemented by our national authorities is the best, if not the only way to beat the virus. It is something that we need to do all together, acting as one.

Depending from one country to another, passenger transport by bus has been seriously reduced, in some cases to strictly essential services. Coach transport in general and services in tourism and recreation have been stopped completely almost everywhere. The economic and financial consequences for all bus and coach operators are fierce, especially for the private SME’s which represent 85% of all bus operators worldwide. Immediate help from regional, national and international public authorities is absolutely necessary, as well as it will be in the following weeks and/or months.

For each one of you, who is directly or indirectly trying to inspire your government, we add the overview of the supportive measures taken by the national bodies in European countries to support their companies. It can provide you with insights and ideas to be proposed to the authorities and decision makers in your own country.

As from our Busworld side, we will continue to inform and connect you in a digital way, until we can start our offline meetings again. So please stay tuned on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or one of our other channels.
