Pacoline Industries Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of mirror assemblies, interior lights reflectors, warning triangles, steering wheels, spray suppression flaps and other plastic components for the automotive industry, showcased a variety of products for the bus and coach segment at the Busworld India in Mumbai. The company also presented its plastic hatrack which is an interesting new offering, in addition to its array of products such as stanchion joints, handles, emergency escape hammers, roller blinds, etc. It also unveiled a new unbreakable mirror to complement its existing range of mirror assemblies.
With rising temperatures inside buses on Indian roads due to overcrowding, besides the glass panels and closed windows that cause breathing problem for both passengers and the bus driver, Pacoline has come up with a unique free-flowing ventilator that removes hot air from the bus and brings the temperature down during frequent stops. Besides reducing the heat, the ventilator helps provide fresh air to passengers and also prevents unnecessary extra heating of materials inside, thereby improving their life and eliminating color fading.
Pacoline’s joints for buses are doing quite well in the market owing to its quality focus and adherence to the bus body code requirements. Many vehicle manufacturers and bus body builders across the country use Pacoline products which are known for their high levels of quality and reliability. In the OEM segment, Pacoline has recently added Ashok Leyland U.A.E., VECV, Volvo, Force Motors, Daimler Buses and SML Isuzu to its clientele with supplies to them having already commenced. It has been supplying its products to Tata Motors, Tata Macopolo, Ashok Leyland and AMW and leading bus body builders in the country.
The company also supplies to STUs with MSRTC (Maharashtra) preferring it as the single source for mirrors and reflectors. It has recently registered with the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) in a bid to further increase its penetration in the STU segment.
Pacoline has had steady sales in the last two years during when the bus industry has done well while the truck industry has gone through a slowdown. With the bus segment contributing to its sales, Pacoline ended the year 2011-12 with a turnover of around Rs. 80 crores and expects to maintain this level in 2012-13 as well. In the coming year, its primary focus will be on mirror assemblies for trucks as it looks to add new OEMs to its growing customer list. It also plans to set up new facilities in the South and North in an year’s time which would help in bettering its service and reach to the existing customers and also to cater to new customers.
