A reputed name in the commercial vehicle industry for mirrors, interior and exterior lights, AC service sets and other plastic products, Pacoline Industries impressed through its camera-equipped side-view mirrors at the second edition of Prawaas.
Speaking to MOTORINDIA, Muzammil Shaikh, Director, Pacoline Industries, said: “Especially for this edition we have launched a motorised coach mirror with night vision camera. As the speed of the vehicle increases the need for safety also increases and this additional night vision safety aspect is really drawing customers to us. The drivers get wider vision because of the camera and we have observed that the rear-view camera is the ‘in thing’ now for the buses.”
“The bus body builders can easily install our camera on both rear-view and side-view mirrors. This technology is already available for luxury cars. For this particular show, we equipped a few vehicles of Tata Motors with this new technology so that visitors could learn more about its functions,” Shaikh added. Pacoline Industries also introduced a new innovative saloon mirror with an in-built digital clock, which displays not only time but also the date and month. It also showcased a new sleek LED CAT 6 side indicator lamp. The company also introduced a variety of new AC service kits to be used by OEMs and bus body builders.
It is evident that customers who have experienced Pacoline Industries’ products in high-end premium buses like Volvo and Scania would now like to see them fitted in other buses too. This is something that bus body builders have realised too. “It’s about the additional value that our products offer. Not just the OEMs, we have also had opportunities to work with some of the topmost body builders of India. And so, whether it is MG (Alma), SM Kannappa, Veera Vahana or Sutlej, all have been our customers who have come to depend on our quality products,” Shaikh added.
With an increasing emphasis on safety, bus body builders are now keener than ever to use only those products that provide the necessary safety parameters, Shaikh opined. “At the Prawaas show, a lot of designers who shape and design buses and other vehicles came to learn about new trends, products and technologies and to further hone their knowledge and strengths. I am happy to see body builders even from as far as North India making it to the show. We received many queries not only about our products but from those who would like to be associated with our brand to explore business opportunities.” The company attributes its growth and expansion to relentless innovation. “We keep on investing in research and development to be able to meet and exceed customer expectations,” Shaikh said.
