Known for its mirrors, lights reflectors and other plastic components for the automotive industry, Pacoline Industries showcased a new passenger door lock for commercial vehicles at ACMA Automechanika 2019. The company also presented new parts for tractors such as the mirrors, latches, locks, tool boxes and specialty boxes. Apart from this the highlight at the Pacoline booth was a specially designed mirror for the Force Motors Traveler Bus.
Mr. Muzammil Shaikh, Director, Pacoline Industries Pvt. Ltd., said: “We are happy to present our wide range of products for the market, and some of our new products like the passenger door lock and the mirror for Force Motors Traveler will pave way for more business.”
Pacoline that has been an OEM-focused company sees the aftermarket as a great potential marketplace which cannot be ignored. It is an accepted business mantra for any supplier to focus on the aftermarket, specially to balance sales when demand from OEMs slows down.
Mr. Shaikh explained: “What we foresee is that after BS-VI kicks in, there shall be a drop-in volume for all the OEMs, because of model change, price increase and adaptation of technology, and there will be a slowdown which OEMs also are predicting. Hence, we are focusing on the aftermarket requirements. Plus, India is being recognized by the world-wide market as a credible supplier, and the acceptability of Indian products have increased significantly over the Europeans and Chinese products. Over the years the popularity of Indian vehicles outside India also has grown, they too need to be catered to. People are becoming aware of using genuine parts and not going in for spurious parts, especially that approved and used by OEMs.”
The company is also mulling over expanding its reach with the affiliates in the form of direct distributors and dealers. “As of now we have few dealers, but the idea is to grow our network of suppliers. We are changing our mindsets and are not merely looking at local dealerships but also European dealerships,” beams Mr. Shaikh.
The company which boasts of state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Pune is also considering further expansion. Mr. Shaikh said: “We have expanded the capacity with a few lines at our existing plant in Hadapsar, Pune. Each of our plants at Sanaswadi and Bhosari is also reaching its full utilization and we are planning to add one more plant in the next three to four months in order to cater to the growing demand from domestic as well as exports,” concluded Mr. Shaikh.
