PHINIA displays range of groundbreaking technologies for the future of transportation

PHINIA Inc., a global leader in premium fuel systems, electrical systems and aftermarket products, will join fellow industry leaders at Europe’s most prestigious commercial vehicle industry event, IAA Transportation, taking place at Messe Hannover between September 17–22, 2024.

PHINIA’s participation marks its debut at the event as an independent entity. The PHINIA booth will play host to a range of groundbreaking technologies, engaging talks, and a platform to display its vision for the future of transportation. Attendees can find PHINIA exhibiting alongside its brands DELPHI® and DELCO REMY® in Hall 24, Booth B02.

One of the highlights at this year’s event will be a special appearance from PHINIA’s CEO, Brady Ericson, and CTO, Todd Anderson, who will host a joint press conference at the PHINIA booth on Monday, September 16 at 15:30 CEST. During this session, they will share insights into PHINIA’s journey since its launch in July 2023, highlighting key achievements including sustainability milestones, technology leadership, and strategic industry partnerships. The session will conclude with a deep dive into PHINIA’s innovative approach to lower carbon propulsion, showcasing how the company’s range of premium products and solutions are driving the industry toward a cleaner tomorrow.

To mark PHINIA’s inaugural exhibition at IAA Transportation, attendees will have an opportunity to test drive PHINIA’s Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines (H2ICE) test vehicle, located in the indoor departure terminal in Hall 11. The test drive will demonstrate the full capabilities of the light commercial vehicle equipped with a 2.2L, 4-cylinder engine converted to H2 Direct Injection, achieving compliance with Euro7 emission standards. The vehicle boasts a towing capacity of 3,000kg and a range of up to 500 km with 700bar storage. PHINIA has applied its legacy knowledge of fuel injection systems to design and produce technology capable of supporting low-, medium-, and high-pressure hydrogen applications. Beneath the bonnet, PHINIA will also feature a range of key hydrogen components on its stand, including its DI-CHG10 and DI-CHG15 Hydrogen Injectors, Hydrogen Regulation Module, and High-Pressure Hydrogen Injection Systems.

PHINIA’s IAA exhibit will also feature a range of advanced technologies for all fuel systems, including:
Electronic Control Unit Software and Calibration Suite: Designed for light and medium-duty vehicles, the PECU100, PECU200, and PECU300 are highly configurable multi-core controllers supporting various applications, including H2ICE. These units are backed by comprehensive engine management control software, offering flexible software and calibration, structured model-based integration, and custom software development services.

Diesel Innovation: Capitalizing on the technological improvements available and responding to market demands, PHINIA continues to invest in diesel innovation. Among a lineup of medium- and heavy-duty pumps, injectors and common rail systems, the Diesel Common Rail 350 stands out as PHINIA’s first-to-market electronically controlled compact diesel injection system. The cost-effective common rail solution supports emissions reduction and improved fuel efficiency, while its compact design and integrated electronic control system meet unique requirements for off-highway applications.

Starter & Alternator Expansion: PHINIA, under its Delco Remy brand, is expanding its starter & alternator program with a comprehensive all-makes range targeting seven leading European truck manufacturers, including Scania, Volvo, and Renault Trucks. This new range, consisting of over 400-part numbers, is designed to deliver OE-level quality. With this expansion, PHINIA aims to achieve over 90% vehicle coverage, with initial stock already available and full availability expected by H1 2025.
