The Pithampur-based company aspires to redefine travel in India and launches a series of concepts, including ‘Finetza’ – the country’s first-ever expandable motorhome with ergonomically designed luxury lounge.
It’s a whole new business of speciality vehicle conversion that Pinnacle Speciality Vehicles (PSV) is embarking on in the Indian market. People in India are as diverse as India itself, says the company with regard to their aspirations and thinking. When it comes to travel, their expectations and feelings are unique – some travel as large families, some as a limited group or as pair. Some want to rest while on travel, while others like to work on wheels. A few others never like to miss out any lively fun while on travel. And there wasn’t adequate option available for people to vent out their dreams in this regard so far, it claims.
PSV, a division of Pinnacle Industries Ltd., wants to liven up such unique dreams on wheels. It has come up with a plethora of concept speciality vehicles that are hard to put in defined categories. Yet, they can be broadly listed as motorhomes, tourers, office-on-wheels, shop-on-wheels (display vans), and so on. These are tooled-up vehicles that are fully-customised using industrially-produced products, meaning that buyers can expect higher levels of fit and finish as OEM products.
‘Van Life’ in India
Asked about PSV’s venture, Mr. Sudhir Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director, Pinnacle Industries Ltd., was proud to reply thus: “In India, customising super luxury automobiles has been in existence, but it is becoming increasingly common now. Travel enthusiasts and families value recreational and multipurpose vehicles, aspire for ‘van life’ with all goodies and fun while on wheels”.
He added: “Being the industry leader in vehicle seating and interiors, we understand the importance and need for organised, credible and safe vehicle conversions and customisation facilities in India. There is immense unexplored market potential and sheer versatility of this industry gives us an opportunity to grow substantially”.
The company’s flagship product on display at Auto Expo was ‘Finetza’, a luxury motorhome concept with an expandable rear lounge. The other products showcased were ‘Opisia’, a modified executive business van with ergonomic work space, ‘Magnifica’, a customized tourer, and ‘Exhibica’, an innovatively modified product display van for e-commerce businesses. All these models are based on the Force Traveller platform, compliant to the Bus Code and other essential in-cabin safety standards and are tailor-made for particular applications.
With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, dedicated design studio and modern production with automotive designers and engineers, PSV claims to customise every detail of a vehicle with finesse and delivers the level of perfection and quality that buyers would cherish. Its unrivalled craftsmanship guarantees customers a unique and unforgettable experience.
So would we see only exclusive and exotic offerings from PSV? Mr. Mehta says these concepts are high-end variants, but basic models are also present in the PSV stable. “We make products to the expectations and standards of this new growing segment. Buyers of speciality vehicles want them to be exclusive, hence all the lavishness”, he adds.
PSV entertains some customisations as per buyers demand, and is also open to work with other vehicle platforms in future.
Asked about marketing strategies, Mr. Mehta revealed that his company is setting up its own channels of sales across the country. “This is a specialized B2B marketing. We are positive with the initial response from our target clientele”, he said, and added that the South Indian region is a big market for speciality vehicles and that his company is open for exports to neighboring markets.
Pinnacle Finetza expandable motorhome: ‘Uber-cool Lounge on Wheels’
Motorhomes can be relatively simple “home away from home” or they can be an extravagant ‘Oberoi’ on wheels. This concept falls in the latter category, with the ultimate definition of luxury on wheels. This model introduces the novel concept of ‘expandable motorhome’ in the country. The rear of the vehicle is expandable up to 1.5 metres, which converts a private cabin with a sofa into a full-size bedroom along with an enthralling sunroof!
That’s not all. Finetza is equipped with everything to offer home-styled comfort and luxury – recliners and sofa sets, motorised convertible queen-size beds for three, full pantry with refrigerator and coffee machine, LED smart TV and entertainment system, and a bio-washroom with sink. Ambient and moot lighting, touch / mobile-operated button controls, and USB charging ports and regular power outlets for gadgets are all around the cabin.
The company claims that the motorhome’s design is optimised for aerodynamics and better road handling, while the interiors are enhanced for maximum safety and plush ride quality. As for pricing, the Finetza would cost above Rs. 50 lakhs depending on what the customer wants, while a regular motorhome-only customisation will approximately range around Rs. 15-25 lakhs, according to PSV.
