Given the fact that damaged shoes means danger, here are a few guidelines from Liberty Shoes
It’s important to take care of your safety footwear to ensure their longevity and effectiveness. For the sake of your feet, it is therefore essential that you take good care of your work shoes. There are some tips that you must keep in mind. Always untie your shoe laces before wearing. After you take off your shoes, leave them dry in a warm and ventilated room, but keep them away from any direct heat such as electric baseboards. Do not leave them out to dry in the sun. To maintain the shoe’s gripping component, remove any mud or snow encrusted into the sole, as well as any gravel or piece of metal.
Brush your shoes to remove stains and dirt, or use a damp cloth to clean them, but steer clear of soap – leather is not a fan! Always remember that the shelf life of direct injected PU sole is not too much, just a year perhaps. Start wearing your shoes soon after you purchase them to ensure long-lasting performance. The more you use them, the longer their life is. As for cleaning the leather, first remove any caked dirt on your boots with a soft bristled brush or damp cloth and the leave your boots to air dry. Please ensure that your boots are away from direct sunlight or any heaters as they will dry out the leather.
Apply leather polish, spray or cream to the leather to help maintain your boots. If you are using a polish for the first time, try it on an inconspicuous area of the boot to check whether it alters the colour or appearance. If using polish, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a polishing cloth or brush and rub on to the shoe in circular motions. Wipe away the residue and again leave to dry. As a shoe-making company, Liberty Shoes is passionate about feet. Did you know that most people have one foot that’s smaller than the other? And that most of us have 26 bones in each foot, but some have 28?
The extras are on the bottom of the foot just behind the big toe. As such, Liberty Shoes has designed a range of footwear so that people can find the right shoes. Different foot beds provide varying levels of cushioning and support, different lasts, lacing systems and different leathers – all of these variations bring diversity to the sizing and fit.
“Try on different styles and sizes, try them on both feet, and try to shop in the afternoon when your feet may be slightly swollen – this helps avoid buying boots that are too small. And, be sure to walk around – your feet usually get two sizes larger when you stand up,” advises the company.
