Chennai-based Polyhose Enterprise LLP is led by a young and dynamic team offering design, development and manufacturing of fabricated parts from its world-class factory at Gummudipoondi. A one-stop shop for all superstructure solutions for truck OEMs and components for the construction equipment segment, the company manufactures a wide range of products like tipper bodies, tipper trailers, flat bed trailers, tankers, bulkers, vehicle roof covering systems, etc. It also fabricates boom, chassis, bucket, cabinet and arm for excavators along with several variants of buckets and other parts for backhoe loaders.
The company is headed by Hatim Shabbir who is a second-generation entrepreneur. It is part of the USD 175 million Polyhose Group, a diversified Indian conglomerate headquartered in Chennai that has completed 25 years. The fluid conveyance division of Polyhose Group is a preferred supplier for all Indian OEMs, especially in the commercial vehicle, tractors and construction vehicle segments and exports over 60% of its output to advanced markets like North America, Middle East, Australia, etc. The team at Polyhose Enterprise has global exposure and is committed to delivering world-class products and meeting stringent customer requirements.
It has been supplying tipper bodies to Ashok Leyland since the last few years and is enthusiastic about new developments. The company has now planned to start load body supplies to Daimler. The facility is equipped with 1,000 tonne and 500 tonne press brake each, which is one of the largest in Asia. The overhead cranes of 5 tonnes and 10 tonnes available in each of the four bays help facilitate the process. Its in-house shot blasting and paint booth enable meeting critical timelines. The company was greatly encouraged when it was awarded the Supplier Samrat 2019-2020 award as a runner-up in fully built vehicle solution and Best Debutant award by Ashok Leyland.
Even during the pandemic, under Hatim’s leadership the team built and supplied tipper bodies in record time with zero defects. It was also awarded the runner-up prize in the tipper category instituted by Ashok Leyland. It has fabricated world-class garbage compactors for a prestigious solid waste management company as well as manpower carrying vehicles and animal carcass carrying vehicle’s body on Ashok Leyland vehicles. Building on its technology, the team has a vision to be a market leader in providing highly efficient material transport solutions for the Indian truck and transport industry. It plans to achieve this through innovative design and manufacturing techniques backed by efficient after-sales service.
With its focus on environment, the company has installed solar power panels with a capacity of 300 KVA to generate electricity and is in the process of ‘going green’. Polyhose Enterprise believes that people are the key and has therefore built residential quarters for some of its staff members near the factory premise to make it convenient for them. Its team is currently looking at fabricating critical parts for a leading American company for sale in India and nearby countries. “India has the potential to become a global manufacturing hub and since Polyhose Group has several successful joint ventures with American and Japanese companies it is well-poised for steep growth and is open to technology partners for collaboration,” the management states.
