Rajesh Menon is new SIAM Director General

He was earlier the Deputy Director General at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) based at its headquarters in New Delhi where he led many initiatives in his 25 years of service

Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has announced the appointment of Rajesh Menon as Director General. He succeeds Vishnu Mathur who is superannuating after a successful stint with SIAM. Menon is presently the Director General Designate at SIAM. He is a post-graduate in Physics from the University of Delhi. Menon was earlier the Deputy Director General at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) based at its headquarters in New Delhi. He joined CII in 1994 and led many initiatives in his 25 years of service. Trade policy, bilateral and multilateral engagements, two-way investment and trade, and facilitating the Indian industry to expand its global footprint through a range of specialised services were some of the specific priorities of his work for CII as head of its international work.

Energy and infrastructure also has been a key portfolio that was led by him. Menon has also headed CII’s regional operations in the north and south, prior to which he led a few state offices of the CII. Rajan Wadhera, President, SIAM, and President (Automotive Sector), Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., said: “We are pleased to have Rajesh Menon join SIAM as the Director General. I am sure that he will be able to provide the right leadership to SIAM that will help the industry achieve its objective of growth with responsibility.
