Randhawa Automobile Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is a prominent provider of custom-made complete vehicular body building solutions. Ever since inception 15 years ago, the company has developed and delivered innumerable models of commercial vehicle bodies with in-house technology of international standard.
In his recent interview to MOTORINDIA at the company facility in Navi Mumbai, Mr. M.S. Randhawa, Managing Director, said his company is a specialist in commercial vehicle body design and development of applications such as steel container bodies, insulated containers, reefer containers, cash vans, tipper bodies, ambulance, display van, mobile shop on wheels, special-purpose vehicles, truck cabins and service vans as per customer requirements. With its motto “You Think & We Make”, the company set up its first unit in Navi Mumbai with all the modern facilities like the design and R&D centre for developing vehicle bodies for three-wheelers and LCVs.
In view of the growing demand for the company products, Randhawa set up its second unit at MIDC Taloja for manufacturing custom-built bodies for medium and heavy commercial vehicles. It has already the OE approval to develop bodies for different leading commercial vehicle manufacturers like Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, M&M, etc. All the designs and developments at Randhawa meet the stringent Government production norms as well as the ARAI specifications. With top priority for safety, the company constantly keeps innovating new technologies towards reduction of vehicle weight, improved fuel economy, etc. The company has already received several awards as well as certificates from leading OEMs for its special focus on indigenous technology.
Future plans
Referring to the future plans of the company, Mr. Randhawa said 2.5 acre land has already been acquired at Patalganga with the idea of further production expansion. Open for foreign collaboration, the company is also planning to establish its manufacturing unit in Chennai to better serve Ashok Leyland. With vast knowledge and experience, Mr. Randhawa’s ambitious plan also includes setting up of a training academy in due course to benefit the vast number of welders, mechanics, etc.
Mr. Randhawa is ably supported by the company’s 80-odd workforce, as also by his sons, Mr. G.P. Singh, Director – P&M, who is efficiently handling marketing and purchase activities, and Mr. Gurjit Singh – Technical Director, who is in charge of Quality & Production of vehicles.
