Rane Group maintains robust growth aided by CV segment

The Chennai-based Rane Group is known the world over for its quality auto components manufactured with technical tie-ups with global players. Also the Rane brand has been recokned as a preferred choice by OEMs and the aftermarket segment. The products of the group companies are exported to different countries. Despite several challenges, the companies have been able to maintain a steady growth during the third quarter of 2015-16.

Rane (Madras) Ltd. registered a sales & operating income of Rs. 204.52 crores for the quarter as against Rs. 196.85 crores for the same quarter of the previous year. Export sales constituted 23 per cent of the total sales.

While the passenger vehicles segment achieved moderate growth over the same period last year, mostly driven by utility vehicles, the CV segment, medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) and light commercial vehicles (LCV) segments continued to register a robust growth, while the small commercial vehicle (SCV) segment remained negative over the same period last year.

Rane Engine Valve Ltd. continued to register a healthy growth by reporting a sales & operating income of Rs. 82.01 crores.

Braking the barrier

Coming to Rane Brake Lining Ltd., a leading manufacturers of brake linings, clutch facings and disc pads, during the third quarter (Oct’15 to Dec’15), the passenger vehicles segment achieved a moderate growth over the same period last year, mostly driven by utility vehicles. Medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) and light commercial vehicles (LCV) segments which continued to make a robust growth.

The company registered sales & operating income of Rs. 111.68 crores for the quarter as against Rs. 101.15 crores for the same quarter of the previous year. Sales to the domestic OEM, aftermarket and railways grew by 7 per cent, 11 per cent, and 71 per cent respectively.
