RSB Global’s ‘Ek Pahal’ Initiative Marks 2nd Anniversary with Empowering Celebration

Ek Pahal – an initiative of RSB Global, proudly marked its 2nd anniversary. This pioneering initiative originated with a vision of R. K. Behera, Chairman RSB and S. K. Behera, Vice Chairman, RSB, to empower women and increase women employment. ‘Ek Pahal,’ is aimed at empowering women within the company and the surrounding community.

The annual day of ‘Ek Pahal’ was graced by three distinguished guests: Padma Shree awardee Chami Murmu, renowned boxer Aruna Mishra, and Swati Sharma, who secured 17th rank all India in this year’s UPSC exams. The presence of these remarkable women added immense value to the celebration, inspiring and encouraging the attendees with their profound words and achievements.

The program was organized under the leadership of Ms. Nirmala Behera and commenced in presence of Mrs. Sangeeta Behera and other eminent personalities, to support and honour the initiative. Over 200 female employees from various plants participated in the event, showcasing the unity and strength of the women within the RSB family.

The event not only celebrated individual achievements but also highlighted the collective initiatives through various activities and awareness sessions conducted throughout the year. The program included stellar cultural performances and a skit by RSB employees to showcase Indian culture and women empowerment.

The ‘Ek Pahal’ initiative is built on four foundational pillars of Learning & Development, Safety, Health & Hygiene and Community Service with each pillar having a representative to continue the annual activities. Pillar Leaders for 2023-24 Anita Gupta, Athena Chakraborty, and Rachna Kumari received appreciation certificate for their exemplary performance, Deepali Darekar received the runner up award and Amruta Patil won the Ek Pahal Annual Award.

During the celebration, the special guests shared their inspiring journeys and motivated the attendees to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience. Their presence and speeches reinforced the importance of women’s empowerment and the pivotal role of initiatives like ‘Ek Pahal’ in fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. The program was curated and executed by RSB employees Jaya Singh, Gazal Bhamre, Sapana Singh, and team.
