Radial Trading Centre (RTC), a well-known provider of garage equipment, made a come-back at the Auto Serve 2018 fair in Chennai last November. The company has been going through challenging times with factors like demonetization and competition within the same group products in India and other local brands, and also the less expensive machines by one-time importers from China hitting it hard over the last couple of years. However, the charismatic man at the helm of RTC, Mr. Kay Kay, Group Managing Director, decided to take part in the aftermarket fair to reiterate the company’s ambition and focus on delivering proven products backed by a unique customer service.
Says Mr. Kay Kay: “Our main focus here at Auto Serve is to revive the market sentiments and sustain our presence in India. We are thankful to our partner Haweka of Germany for supporting our presence at this fair which is a good platform to connect with our customers in South India. We are also thankful to Snap-on India for their support and contribution towards our participation in Auto Serve.”
It is not just RTC which is being tested by challenging market conditions. The entire automotive industry, both globally and in India, is going through changes in line with the major megatrends of e-mobility, autonomous vehicles and connected vehicles.
However, despite all odds, the MD makes an interesting observation: “Whatever be the trends that are shaping the automotive industry, it is an undeniable fact that as long as vehicles run on roads, their point of contact to the road will always be tyres. So, companies like us involved in the tyre side of the market simply have to be present in the market and we will have good opportunities in future. The quality and support delivered by RTC is well-known by our customers; for now, we hope to keep our customers with us and strengthen our presence in the near future.”
Being an award-winning reseller for John Bean – Snap-on products for many years, RTC’s main product line is John Bean while it is supported by other products as well. RTC has also been a leading supplier of Haweka truck alignment systems whose performance is unmatched, as claimed by Mr. Kay Kay. “Haweka alignment systems are the best in the market and consume 25 per cent less time and 20 per cent less effort than other brands”, he states to reaffirm his claim.
RTC specialises in computer wheel balancing and four-wheel alignment systems which most of the recognised vehicle distributors and tyre importers prefer. The company also offers automobile lifts for garages which have been approved by automotive giants such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, VW, Porsche, etc.
Apart from its presence in India where it has its headquarters in Chennai and branches across South India, RTC has major operations in the UAE since almost four decades with many more products and brands, where it has established itself as one of the most successful dealers for Snap-on equipment and tools with excellent support by the principals from Italy and the US.
