Saertex composite bus body for Indian automotive market

Indian Presence

Saertex-pic-2In July 2005, SAERTEX India Private Limited was set up as a wholly owned subsidiary of SAERTEX Germany in Pune, India. This manufacturing facility in over 6500 sq mts, primarily serves the Indian market and also exports to Europe, Germany, Portugal and USA.  SAERTEX India is also recognised as a Star-export house.

SAERTEX India plans to introduce an ‘all composite bus’ in the Indian market through their innovative ideas and expertise in using advanced composite materials such as GFRP (Glass fibre reinforced plastic) and CFRP (Carbon fibre reinforced plastic). SAERTEX USA has very strong design capability and manufacturing support ability as they have been supportive to many composite coach builders.

SAERTEX works with all the well-known bus and truck manufacturers in India, including some of the multinational entrants. In another interesting initiative the company is in discussion with many government authorities for driving a mass migration to electric solutions for all school buses across the country. It has received positive response from the stakeholders and is confident that the move will result in a lot of benefits, especially in terms of sustainability and safety.

Though the automotive segment contributes only a small part of its total revenue in the country at present, the company has a lot of interesting solutions on the anvil which are expected to boost the segment’s contribution by multi-fold in the coming years.
