Safexpress, India’s largest supply chain & logistics firm, recently launched its logistics park at Pithampur. Covering over an area of 75,000 sq. ft., this ultra-modern park is strategically located on NH 3.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Pawan Jain, CMD, Safexpress, observed: “We feel great pride in having launched this state-of-the-art Logistics Park at Pithampur. This will help to raise the standards of supply chain & logistics in this region to a very different level.”
Pithampur is a major hub for the automobile manufacturing industry. Majority of the vehicle-producing companies in India have their factories at Pithampur. It is a well-developed industrial area, with large and small-scale industries. Pithampur is also home to various other industries like food processing, chemical processing, distilleries and textiles. A large number of multinationals and Indian companies have their manufacturing base in this region. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to set up a logistics park at Pithampur.
Mr. Jain further said: “We have made a significant investment to set up this ultra-modern logistics infrastructure. Mr. Vineet Kanaujia, VP – Marketing, Safexpress, spoke on the ideology behind the development of numerous logistics parks in India. It has a floor load capacity of 4 metric tonnes per square metre and has a truck docking area 60 feet wide. Moreover, to make our logistics park eco-friendly, we have taken special go-green initiatives by investing in rainwater harvesting and developing special green zones.”
Coveted CII Awards for Safexpress
Safexpress was conferred three most coveted Awards for ‘Best Road Transport Company, ‘Best 3PL Company’ and ‘Best Warehousing Company’ at the CII Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Awards 2014 presentation function held in Mumbai on May 2.
This was the inaugural edition of the CII SCALE Awards. The winners were selected by eminent jury members on the basis of stringent performance parameters.
