Sandhar presents solutions for smart cars and BS-VI vehicles

Auto component major Sandhar Technologies has lined up a diverse range of products and solutions mainly focusing on smart cars and BS-VI vehicles. Industry veteran Jayant Davar, Co-Chairman and MD, Sandhar Technologies, gives us a quick update on his company’s presence at the show and his take on how the BS-VI transition would impact the market.

Products and technologies showcased

We are showcasing a number of products and technologies at our ‘green’ stand. First are our auto electronic products from our JV companies for smart cars like sharkfin antennae, micropole antennae, relays, rear and front parking sensors, cameras and kick sensors to name a few. We are presenting new light-weight products of magnesium die casting and new products that have been specially manufactured for BS-VI vehicles. On the safety side, we have products like two-wheeler helmets and new regulation rear view mirrors. Other products on display at our stand include gear shifters, parking brake, sun visors, black out tapes and anti-chipping film.

Expectations from the show

As always, we expect to meet our existing customers and new OEMs to showcase the newer capabilities and products we have developed over the past two years, especially for smart cars and BS-VI vehicles.

BS-VI Impact

Any change necessitates adaptability and takes a while to be fully accepted. In the context of BS-VI, the change is likely to be in the form of increase in vehicle cost. The existing stock of vehicles is likely to be sold at steep discounts which will satisfy the need for cheaper vehicles. We expect the first two quarters of next fiscal to exhibit marginal growth post which the auto industry would reclaim its earlier growth model.
