Vy Buss, Norway’s largest bus operator, has received a record 162 new Scania Citywide LE Suburban buses for its routes in the Slemmestad and Haugalandet regions. Scania will provide all maintenance and repair services for the buses and has therefore established new workshops in the areas.
The repair and maintenance services are organised as part of the Scania Fleet Care concept, whereby Scania takes full administrative technical responsibility for the buses. All error reporting from drivers, for example, is communicated directly to Scania, which then organises and prioritises the buses at the workshop.
Of the Scania Citywide LE Suburban buses, 99 are 15-metre buses with 9-litre 360 hp engines and the remaining 63 vehicles are 12- and 13-metre buses with 9-litre 320 hp engines. The passenger capacity of the 15-meter buses is 55 seated and 57 standing. On the 13-meter buses, there is room for 45 seated and 25 standing. The buses are built according to the latest requirements with external cameras for a full view surrounding the entire bus. The wide doors and flat floors without obstacles provide easy access and an efficient passenger flow.
