The new administration building of Schmalz India was inaugurated in Pune on November 4 by Mr. Roland S. Folger, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedez Benz India Pvt. Ltd. The new facility, a state-of-art structure providing a better working environment for the employees, covers an area of 3700 m² and accommodates all the departments and production.
The opening ceremony started with the formal ribbon cutting by Mr. Folger in the presence of the Managing Director and CEOs of various reputed companies. This was followed by the short tour of the company premises led by Mr. Philip J. Mani, Managing Director, Schmalz India. The invitees then had the opportunity go around the production facility and see the live demonstration of various products of Schmalz selling in the Indian market.
Schmalz manufactures products for material handling using the vacuum technology and is the world leader is providing vacuum components for automation, vacuum clamping and vacuum handling systems.
Mr. Folger spoke about his experience with Schmalz and its products. He also complimented the team for making this investment for serving the customers and said that he was “impressed with the level of expertise, dedication and commitment of Schmalz to enhance the satisfaction level of customers in the market”.
He also said the association of Schmalz with Mercedez in India dates back to 2009 when the former sold its first jib crane to Mercedez India. He also cited the products and services offered to the other plants of Mercedez worldwide.
Mr. S.M. Jacob, General Manager, gave a short presentation on the Schmalz journey of 17 years in India. Schmalz India started in rented premises of 75 m² in Hyderabad and then shifted to its own building in Pune in 2003.
