Schwing Stetter (India) Private Ltd., a leading concrete construction equipment manufacturer in India, unveiled its five new products along with five new variants. The new product launches that strengthen the company’s expertise in concrete technology span across the concrete pumps and batching plants segment. SP1300, SP3000 and TSM 20.8 are the new concrete pumps, while CP 45 and H1J are the new batching plants launched at the show.
The products were unveiled by Mr. Anand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India, and Mr. VG Sakthikumar, Whole-Time Director – Operations, Schwing Stetter India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Sundaresan observed: “We are delighted to have launched new products and be a part of Excon again. This is a prestigious event for us, and a great platform for us to showcase our latest products and our cutting-edge technology. The very key factor behind launching new products is to make sure that they meet the Indian conditions, as well as customers’ expectations and help them do their concerting job with ease”.
Mr. Sakthikumar said: “This is a moment of pride for us at Schwing Stetter India. Excon has always been the one-stop shop for us to build and maintain relationships with potential as well as existing customers. Our newly-launched products demonstrate high levels of quality and efficiency, as our mantra is to deliver the best-in-class concrete solutions for the construction industry. We hope to showcase our expertise with more such remarkable products and continue to redefine the construction space by employing the best-in-class technology”.
“In the concrete pump segment, we have introduced a new high-pressure pump for smaller tunnels and buildings of height ranging from three to 10 metres. We identified a gap in the market and have launched this product without much cost difference from other lower variants. It comes with the advantage of being easily mountable on an LCV/ICV chassis of Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and others, thereby reducing the overall operating cost by around 40 per cent which is a huge saving”, added Mr. Sundaresan.
All of Schwing’s batching plants are computerized with a GPS in its system to track the movement of all its truck mixers across the country. The company works with all major vehicle manufacturers in the country including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz and MAN, with a dominant market share of over 70 per cent in the mixer segment, and will end FY14 with sales of around 2,300 mixer units, despite the tough market conditions. Moving forward, the company plans to sharpen its focus on localizing more products and components and also enhance its production capacities in the country. Until 2012-13, around 30 per cent was the import content of its products which is likely to go down to about 18 per cent in 2014 and further down to nearly five to 10 per cent by 2015.
