Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), the 100 per cent wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, has announced senior-level changes in the light of the progress of its Asian Business Model.
The Asian Business Model that was introduced by Daimler Trucks last year, combining the core strengths of MFTBC and DICV under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA), is growing exponentially both at the operational and functional levels. Subsequent to the first wave integration of R&D and Life Cycle Management functions, the organisation is expanding the scope of integration in Procurement and Supply Chain Management & Logistics.
Mr. Satyakam Arya, who was hitherto Vice-President, Procurement – DICV, will move to MFTBC, Japan, as the Vice-President, Procurement, Daimler Trucks Asia, where he will also assume the role as the Global Commodity Head of Mechatronics for Daimler Trucks, effective September 1. Mr. Yasuhiko Kondo, hitherto General Manager, Life Cycle Management and Governance & Operations Management Procurement, MFTBC, will take over as Vice-President, Procurement, at DICV.
Following Mr. Erich Nesselhauf’s elevation as Managing Director & CEO of DICV, Mr. Mathew Oommen, who was hitherto Assistant Vice-President, Product Engineering, will take over as Vice-President – Supply Chain Management, DICV, effective August 1.
Mr. Arya has been with DICV since 2009 and has put in place an effective procurement system. He has overseen various roll-out projects and addressed the need of DICV’s business plan requirements efficiently. During his stint, he also helped setting up a new supplier base for DICV in India catering not only to local requirements but also to Asian and global requirements.
Mr. Kondo has served in the area of Life Cycle Management and Procurement since 2005 at MFTBC, Japan. With his vast experience at various functional and operational levels he will certainly add value to the existing set-up and ably manage and support the procurement operations of the company.
Mr. Mathew Oommen has been fully involved in the product engineering and full vehicle integration and was actively associated with medium- and heavy-duty projects at DICV since inception, and has made substantial contributions to DICV’s focus on creating trucks for India.
