SKF’s centralised distribution centre opened at Chakan

SKF, the leading worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ball & roller bearings and rotating equipment performance products, has announced the launch of its new centralized distribution centre at Chakan, Pune. Spread over 64,000 square feet, this India Distribution Centre (IDC) will significantly improve SKF’s distribution and logistics footprint in India.

The centre is strategically located in the industrial belt of Maharashtra and is in the vicinity of key automobile manufacturers, it is also well connected with the factories to ensure better availability of stocks and to serve the customers at the shortest possible time.

The centre combines the latest logistics infrastructure with SKF best practices in its logistics operations worldwide,” says Christer Cedervall, Director – Logistics & Demand Chain, AB SKF. “It will allow us to reduce delivery lead times and provide a wider range of products to our customers and distributors.”
